The guidance set forth two years ago in Canada is now in effect after the 24-month relief "sand box" for crypto platforms expired on August 7th, 2022.
The guidance currently allows for unlimited purchasing of Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and Bitcoin. However, it now has a 30k total limit for all other cryptos.
This means in Canada you can continue to buy as much Litecoin as you like, but if it's not one of the 4 listed there is an annual limit.
Per Canadian regulation the 30k limits are effective for Canadians who live in the following provinces or territories:
Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon.
These limits are not applicable in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Quebec.
Litecoin was listed as one of the four specified crypto assets in Appendix B of the legislature document "In the Matter of the Securities Legislation of Ontario (the Jurisdiction) and Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, Québec, Saskatchewan, and Yukon "
